With as little as £10 you can apply to be part of Zipcar’s car club and join thousands of happy customers across the UK. The Basic membership is the perfect way to get you started and you will receive the £10 application fee in driving credit once approved! Already a member? Smart
Driving rates are from £7/hr and £68/day for £6 a month.
If you use Zipcar more than once or drive more than 105 minutes per month, you can save more on each trip, making your journeys even more affordable and what’s best? You will get the £6 monthly fee back into your account as driving credit! The Smart membership is ideal for people who will use Zipcar for a couple of trips per month such as visiting friends and family, running errands, avoiding train strikes, airport trips or 5 am workouts.
Plus
Driving rates are from £6/hr and £60/day for £15 a month.
If you are a frequent driver you can benefit from greater savings and even more affordable driving rates! Like the Smart plan, you will get your £15 monthly fee back into your account as driving credit! The Plus membership is ideal for people who will use Zipcar for an on-going basis, have joint accounts with friends or family or want to reduce costs by renting Zipcar vs. owning a car.

What are the differences between Basic, Smart and Plus memberships?
The Basic membership does not incur a monthly payment but driving rates start from £9/hour and £85/day. The Basic plan rate is perfect to get you started and learn all Zipcar.
The Smart membership allows you to benefit from discounted rates at £7/hour and £68/day for as little as £6 per month. The Smart plan rate is perfect when you drive at least more than two hours or two times per month as you can save as much as 22% on a weekday and 18% on a weekend per hour.
The Plus membership allows you to benefit from even greater discounts at £6/hour and £60/day for only £15 per month. The Plus plan rate is essential for a frequent driver saving as much as 33% on weekdays and 32% on weekends per hour.
What is included in my membership?
All the memberships give you access to 3,000+ cars and vans, 24/7 assistance and all the other generous inclusions you love about Zipcar - Fuel, insurance and mileage. Even better? Zipcar is ULEZ compliant and part of CoMo UK.
How do I pay for my membership?
Zipcar, accepts payment by either debit card or credit card. Simply, select your preferred payment method, including Monzo, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. The debit or credit card should match your valid driver’s licence. You can also set up a direct debit for your Smart or Plus membership making payments even easier! Once your account is approved, use the app to find and book your next Zipcar.
How can I upgrade my account?
If you would like to upgrade your account to Smart or Plus you can call us or email us and get assisted support.
How can I cancel my membership?
If you cancel and end your membership now, you can still access it until the end of your next billing cycle. We are unable to provide a partial or full refund of any damage protection or membership fees. If you have any questions, please visit our Help Centre.
Can I join an existing membership account?
To join an existing account you will need to be an approved Zipcar member. The holder of the account needs to add a member using the email address of the account they wish to add. There is then the option to include damage protection to the account being added. The invitee will receive an email detailing that they have been added to an account, with the option to accept this request. When joining an existing account the account holder will be responsible for all billing matters, so you will not need any additional payment information. Click here for more information.
Is there a trial membership?
Currently, there is not a free trial membership for the paid plans but with only a £10 application fee, you can test out the Basic plan! Once approved, you get your £10 back in driving credit but if you would prefer to get lower rates per hour and day, you can easily upgrade to Smart or Plus.
