Whilst Zipcar is the UK’s biggest and most popular car-sharing service - with the most generous inclusions and largest fleet - we’re not the only option. Sign-up Process

The sign-up process for Enterprise and Zipcar are fairly easy. Both require a valid driver’s licence and a debit/credit card. With Enterprise car rental you can join from £2/month. Membership starts from £2 - £7 per month (or £20-£60 /year) location dependant. With Zipcar you can choose the best membership plan that works for you; Basic, Smart or Plus. There is a small application fee of £10 on the Basic rate plan. The fee is paid to apply to Zipcar, to cover administration costs incurred by us as a company. Once approved, you can get £10 in driving credit, which means you’ll get back the cost of your application fee!

With Enterprise Car Club, you can hire a car in London from £7.65/hr. This will differ based on your vehicle choice, the length of your trip, the location and the mileage. With Enterprise car hire, the only option is to pay by the hour or day and it includes fuel, insurance and Congestion Charge. 

With Zipcar, you can choose between 3 affordable plans to suit your travel needs. With every plan you can pay by the minute, hour or day. We take care of fuel, insurance, mileage and the Congestion Charge too. The cost of renting a Zipcar varies depending on the plan you're on, city you're in and vehicle you're driving. Zipcar rates start from £6.00/hour for Roundtrip and from £14/hour for Flex. Take a look at the table here for the most up to date prices, filter by the drop down top left for your rate plan.

Having cars nearby is really important to ensure car sharing is simple and accessible. Enterprise has 1,400+ vehicles across the UK. These include SUVs, vans, and luxury cars. Whereas Zipcar offers 3,000+ vehicles in various makes and models across the UK. Here's a little introduction to all our cars and vans to help you make a choice. Both Enterprise and Zipcar offer sustainable alternatives for when you are feeling greener. With Zipcar, you can access 500+ EV’s. Even more? The goal is to be 100% electric by 2025!

Both Enterprise and Zipcar offer one-way and roundtrip services available to book through the website or the app. Enterprise has over 400 branches across the UK. Contrary to Enterprise Car Club, Zipcar is mainly available in London but both operates 24/7 across the UK. Which means on average the nearest Zipcar is 10 minutes away from your front door or office at any time of the day or week. Zipcar is also available in Bristol, Cambridge, Oxford, Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport.

Zipcar and Enterprise allows you to pick up and drop off the vehicle at the same location (parking guaranteed) for roundtrip service. For Zipcar, simply use the app to find any green pin near you, book and drive by the hour or day - starting from £6 per hour or from £60 per day. Park in the same bay you picked your Zipcar up from.

One Way Rental

Zipcar is the only car rental company to offer convenient and flexible one-way rental service from a selection of vehicles. With Zipcar Flex you to pick a car (held for 15 minutes) and then just drop it in the Zipzone throughout London. Use the app to find any blue pin near you, book and drive by the minute, hour or day. Perfect for spontaneous one-way trips around the city, starting from 31p per minute.

Enterprise Car Club and Zipcar allows you to rent and return cars and vans any time, 24/7 and pay by the minute, hour or day. With Enterprise the price is calculated in 15-minute increments from the start to end of your reservation. Both char sharing companies restrict members to a maximum 7 day rental.

Both Enterprise and Zipcar rates include fuel, insurance and Congestion Charge which highlights the benefit of car sharing. With Zipcar, you can also travel throughout London and benefit from driving 60 miles for free, after that £0.29/mile. Why? Because that included too! One less thing to think about when you travel.
