I Went to Zipcar HQ and All I Got Was This AWESOME Zuggie
Just imagine: It's a crisp Saturday morning, and rather than waking up to a cup of fresh, brewed coffee, you find yourself walking towards the entrance of the Zipcar Home Office. You're nervous, excited, and quite honestly, a little drowsy from the early morning flight that landed you in Boston. You begin to realize that you haven't bundled up properly because you're not used to the wicked cold weather. And the fact that you’ve already started picking up the word "wicked" makes you a tad uneasy.
You take a peek inside HQ and spot a few Zipcar employees welcoming everyone in. So far, so good. And then you see her: the President of Zipcar, Kaye Ceille, greeting you in the doorway. You realize this isn’t some stuffy, corporate affair — or a what-the-heck-IS-this Willy Wonka tour. So just what is it then? Why, it’s a Zipcar Member Roundtable.
Yep, we recently tapped 18 brave Zipsters from around North America to meet us at our clubhouse for a whole lotta Zipster collaboration at its finest. Hey, if we want to keep getting better in an evolving transportation landscape, we need to hear what our members are thinking, straight from the source. What’s working well? What needs a tune up?
And boy, did we hear it all. The highs and lows of Zipcar membership. And, of course, the gripes (and perks!) that come with city living. We capped off the day with a highly competitive game of Zipcar Jeopardy!™. Try this one on for size: Q: Who were the two co-founders of Zipcar and where did they meet? A: Robin Chase and Antje Danielson on a playground in Cambridge, while watching their kids play. As for the winning prize: a cozy, limited edition Zipcar Snuggie — or as we like to refer to it, a Zuggie. (We swear, one day this will catch on.)
Finally, we had to wrap up the weekend-long brainstorm and bid farewell (and a hearty thanks) to our thoughtful participants who dedicated their weekend to making car sharing awesomer for all of us.
Our only regret is not being able to have input from everyone out there. But that would be humanly impossible (and very loud). Nevertheless, we’re always here to take your feedback, so please keep sharing your opinions and experiences with us. Tweet @Zipcar or share your stories, Ziptrip photos, and suggestions on our Facebook page, or leave a comment here on Ziptopia. We’ll keep doing everything in our power to continuously innovate your Zipcar experience, and be a problem-solving piece of the transportation puzzle — with Zuggies on.
