Power Wheels: Tesla Puts Out Positive Energy

Elon Musk, CEO of electric car company Tesla Motors, recently announced that the organization would be willing to open its “Supercharger” electric vehicle stations to competitors as a way to accelerate adoption. We’re thrilled to see that Tesla, a company committed to sustainable development, is taking a more holistic approach to empowering alternative fuel vehicle growth around the globe.

Here at Zipcar, we pay the gas bill for over 10,000 cars, so it’s in our best interest to make sure we have the most fuel-efficient vehicles on the planet. However, as big as our green dreams may be, without the necessary infrastructure to support electric vehicles, it’s a challenge for us to continue to grow our fleet of EV’s.

As the old adage goes, “A rising tide lifts all boats.” We tip our hats to Elon Musk and Tesla for prioritizing the greater good above the bottom line—and powering positive change in the process.
